Nordia is the first organization in ASIA to implement SAP HANA technology for a leading firm in India.

SAP HANA is an in-memory database helps to zero-in on the information you need without wasting time sifting through irrelevant data. SAP in-memory database, which is a hybrid in-memory database that combines row-based, column-based, and object-based database technology.

HANA database is designed in such a way that it’s a combination of both the latest hardware and software innovations that has happened in the recent years. It uses columnar storage unlike the traditional databases like oracle which use row storage for data storage. Also it runs on a platform with high amount of RAM, CPU Cores and with faster I/O disks like SSD and flash drives which is a recent innovation in the IT industry.

Since HANA involves the latest technology software and hardware components, the pricing of HANA stands higher compared to the other databases but SAP has cloud solutions for the in-memory Platform-as-a-Service offering which enables customers and developers to build, extend, and run applications on SAP HANA in the cloud.

Migration Path :

SAP NetWeaver Business Warehouse powered by SAP HANA or BW on HANA (BoH) is around for some time already. It was introduced in 2nd quarter of 2012 and meanwhile it got a lot of attention. Basically BW is usual choice when companies are trying to evaluate HANA. It is natural that first they just migrate to HANA as database and after some time they start to implement new project using new BW objects leveraging HANA functionalities. Or starting of re-implementing current BW data models to use HANA can happen. Eitherways BW is getting a lot of attention as first system to be migrated to HANA.
